Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain model year 2009-2010 Volkswagen Jetta A5 Sedan, 2009 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen, Eos, GTI, Rabbit and Audi A3 vehicles, and 2010 Volkswagen Golf A6 vehicles. The Antilock Brake System (ABS) control unit may fail during ABS or Electronic Stability Control (ESC) activation, possibly causing a loss of vehicle control.
In cold weather, the head light wiring may be damaged and subjected to freezing. Freezing can damage electrical components, and cause voiding protection circuits, which risk shorting out the auto-sensing electrical circuits in the vehicle. Also, the determination of the identity between the head light source and the front or rear fog lights is incomplete. This could cause the head light to be activated during times when the fog light should be operating, or vice versa.
The affected vehicles have a 1.8L TSI gasoline engine and the following model years: car - model is 2009 Jetta A5 Sedan, 2009 Jetta SportWagen; car - model is 2009 Jetta GTI; car - model is 2009 Eos; car - model is 2009 Rabbit and Audi A3; car - model is 2010 Golf A6. 7211a4ac4a
